I miss CYA.
I also really miss saganaki.
CYA is officially over and I’m all moved out of my apartment. I kind of feel like they kicked me out right at my moment of loving Greece the most. This is kind of a touchy subject which I’ll AVOID because it makes me CRY. I miss my friends like crazy.
Nevertheless, I’m still in Greece. My parents came on Monday and just yesterday we hopped on a boat to Naxos. It’s ridiculously beautiful and I’ve already read an entire book! IDEAL. It was called Cloud Atlas and was one of the best books I’ve read in a while. Next I’m starting Cryptonomicron (probably spelled that wrong) and hopefully, being like 1000 pages, it will keep be occupied until I go home.
Santorini on the 20th or something like that, then home. Hard to believe. I’ll put up a final post sometime after I get home with all the pictures I missed. I never put up anything for going to Mystras and Sparta, or a lot of other things. Oh well! After that it’s probably time to say goodbye to this blog. ughghghgfhgjlfg

Hi everybody! So sorry for falling behind on this thing. I never even finished the Thessaloniki post, did I? Oy. Spring Break was so huge I didn’t even know where to start. But it was, what, three weeks ago? So I should probably get on that. I’m going to divide this into dramatic chapters, for easy reading.
CHAPTER 1: A DATE… WITH DESTINY Continue reading

I can’t even believe how much I have to catch up with. Not even counting spring break, which ended, oh, three hours ago when I got back into Athens (I’m writing this in a desperate attempt to stay awake until 8-ish), I went to Poros the weekend before, and probably something before that Oy.
This past week I’ve spent more time in more varied types of transportation than I thought possible.
A brief summary of April 10-20th:

Mykonos

Paris

Santorini
ps also we rented atvs in santorini and it was FANTASTIC

First things first– I loved Thessaloniki. Maybe a little more than Athens. For one thing, it was right on the water (I guess technically Athens is too, but it’s over an hour away from where I live). It felt more like a college town, and overall seemed a lot younger and more multicultural. It didn’t hurt that the weather was gorgeous all weekend. It was also a good break from all the antiquity-focused places we’ve been going to lately. I was starting to get burnt out.

I feel unqualified to write this post. The trips to Olympia and Delphi were two weeks ago, which even for my shoddy memory shouldn’t be too hard, but the last two weeks have been pretty eventful meaning I can’t remember anything. But I’ll give it a shot!

I am crazy sore. But Meteora was incredible. It was like being on another planet.
I’m gonna make this brief becuase I’m actually going to cook something! I don’t remember if I whined about this here, but I accidentially spent 10.50 euro on a small bag of shrimp. PRETTY DUMB. I thought they were 2.50! I also accidentally bought “Soja” sauce instead of Soy sauce. Also pretty dumb! But together, they are delicious. So poetic.
Anyway: Meteora!

I enjoy how when learning really basic things in language classes everything sounds very weighty. For example, today I wrote:
What his is name? His name is Odysseus.
He is kind, and has two sisters.
Just say it like you’re reciting for a Homer audiobook and you will understand.
λοιπόν!!
